Want To Be a Certified Floodplain Manager?

Through the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM), our mothership, Certification in floodplain management is offered. I offer this exam each year at our annual conference. It is a test that requires some studying and good working knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program. There is a fee to take the exam and annual CEU's to maintain the Certification. It is a great way to show our professionalism in our field. If you are interested in taking this exam, please let me know and I will get you the study material for this exam.

  1. CFM is a great certification for anyone involved in Floodplain Management as is membership of ASFPM, the leading national FEMA-endorsed professional organization for the floodplain management field (with great annual conferences I might say...). Being a CFM is looked upon very favorably by FEMA and with Judy procuring the test at the UFSMA conference it's pretty convenient to get it. Let me know if anyone needs more information. I have training materials etc. also

    Great blog, Judy!

  2. Thanks Remmet. Utah has 17 CFMs! That is great, but we need more. Thanks for your support of the blog!

  3. I am interested in taking the CFM exam in November and would be interested in any additional information you can provide to me on the subject. Do I register throught ASFPM or the State? Are there study courses provided at the annual conference? Are there conference rates for rooms? Is a meeting agenda available for this years conference? Lots of questions...sorry. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.
